Photos--The Caribbean Digital II: Histories, Cartographies, Narratives

On December 4, 2015 the Digital Black Atlantic Project convened capacity audiences at Columbia University for The Caribbean Digital II,  a series of panel presentations on the digital media of the Caribbean and its diasporas.  

For the panel on "Histories," Vincent Brown of Harvard University looked at "Two Plantations: Enslaved Families in Virginia & Jamaica" and Laurent Dubois & Mary Caton Lingold of Duke University presented on "Musical Passage: A Voyage to 1688 Jamaica," with Jennifer Morgan of New York University as discussant. The "Cartographies" panel comprised of Project Director Kaiama L. Glover of Barnard College & Alex Gil of Columbia University presenting on "In the Same Boats: Toward an Afro-Atlantic Intellectual Cartography" with Ian Baucom, University of Virginia, as discussant. The final panel on "Narratives" featured novelists Robert Antoni and Oonya Kempadoo, with Kelly Baker Josephs, York College, CUNY, as discussant.
