Bernardita Llanos

Bernardita Llanos M. is Professor of Spanish Language and Literature at Loyola University Chicago. She received her PhD in Hispanic and Luso-Brasilian Literatures and Linguistics from the University of Minnesota. In 1994 she published (Re)descubrimiento y (re)conquista de América en la ilustración española, which received a publication grant from the Program of Cultural Cooperation between Spain's Ministry of Culture and U.S. universities. Many of her articles on Latin American culture and women writers have appeared in American, Latin American, and European journals. She co-authored Reinas de otro cielo. Modernidad y autoritarismo en la obra de Pedro Lemebel (2004). She edited Letras y proclamas: la estética narrative deDiamela Eltit (2006). She is president of the International Association of Literature and Culture of Hispanic Women.
