Javairia Shahid is a Ph.D. student in Columbia University's Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation (GSAPP), with a joint affiliation at the Institute of Comparative Literature and Society (ICLS). She holds a graduate degree in architectural history and theory from GSAPP. Her research focuses on the history of knowledge production and epistemic labor under colonialism in South Asia and the Indian Ocean world.
