M Constantine is a Ph.D. candidate in Anthropology at Columbia University. She is a writer and editor and has produced publications and projects with a number of art and architecture organizations including Slavs and Tatars, the Whitney Museum of American Art, and Cornell University Department of Architecture. Her dissertation focuses on collectivity and the politics of knowledge in contemporary art, analyzing the interface where the political imaginaries and pragmatic concerns of critical collectives meet the institutional and discursive structures of the art world in which they circulate. Her research explores how aesthetic concepts and practices shape the transformation of lives, intimacies, and social power.
