Lois Perelson-Gross is pursuing a second career in Humanistic Medicine and holds a Doctor of Ministry (D. Min) from Hebrew Union College/Jewish Institute of Religion and a Master of Science in Narrative Medicine from Columbia University and has completed coursework at the Clinical Pastoral Education program of the HealthCare Chaplaincy of New York. She has served as a Chaplain Intern in the Palliative Care Unit at Mt. Sinai Hospital where she is also a member of the Advisory Board of the Hertzberg Palliative Care Institute. She has been an instructor in Narrative Medicine at HUC/JIR and a Fellow in Narrative Medicine at Columbia University. In her first career she was a vice president in the Municipal Finance Department of Goldman, Sachs & Co. Lois received an undergraduate degree Phi Beta Kappa and magna cum laude with highest honors in history from Smith College, and an M.B.A. from Columbia Business School. She and her husband have three adult children and reside in New York City.
